| The Satin Garnet flatware from Oneida combines luxurious weight with a sleek, elegant styling and excellent definition. The handles feature a rounded flourish at the end complemented by an eye-catching arc in profile and gleaming working ends. An inset satin-finish accent completes the effect. Generously oversized after the European fashion, the Satin Garnet pieces are substantial in the hand without clumsiness. Oneida forges them from high-quality stainless steel with 18 percent chrome for maximum corrosion-resistance and 10 percent nickel for a silver-like luster. This 65-piece set includes place settings for 12, each with a 9-1/2-inch place knife, 8-inch place fork, 7-inch place spoon, 7-inch salad fork, and 6-1/4-inch teaspoon. The serving pieces include a butter knife, sugar spoon, serving fork, serving spoon, and pierced serving spoon. Oneida nestles the set in a wooden caddy with smooth beveled edges. Backed by a lifetime warranty, the flatware never needs polishing and is safe for the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard What’s in the Box 12 place settings, 5 serving pieces. | We've been looking to replace our stainless for a few years now, patiently waiting for the right set that balanced style, features, durability and value. It was tough as most of the sets we liked were very expensive - $20+ per place setting. We thought about a Mikasa set that is made in Korea, but we were not sold on the style and they were made of 18/8 steel; a lesser grade of stainless. We came across this set of Oneida at a local department store for $150 for the 12 piece setting. We agreed that it was the set we were looking for but we came home to see if it was available at amazon.com. We were delighted to find it at 1/3 lower cost - what a great buy! They arrived today and we could not be happier. 18/10 (same as the $20+ sets) and the same weight as well. GREAT FIND - you'll love them. |
Cheaply made - it rusts!

| I bought this set about a year and a half ago based on all the good reviews here. However within a couple months after using the set and dishwashing them, they started to develop rust spots! I have been lazy about sending them back to Oneida for the lifetime warranty but it will be done for sure. Also note that the set is made in China. An older Oneida set of similar quality I have had for well over 10 years has never rusted and was made in the USA. Don't know if Oneida's quality control has improved since I purchased my set but I don't know if I will buy another Oneida set after this. |

| My husband and I just got married and we were looking for a nice, hefty 18/10 flatware set that would be suitable for both everyday use as well as when we would be entertaining. Upon doing an extensive search on the internet, I came upon Oneida's Satin Garnet collection. After reading all the product description and reviews, I was convinced we had found what we were looking for. So I placed the order in December 2004. They arrived about a week later and sure enough, we were absolutely delighted with our purchase. The pieces look wonderful and feel great in the hand...each feels very solid, quite substantial. After almost 3 months of usage, I still find myself admiring them! They do well in the dishwasher too, always coming out with a nice mirror shine. And the price here at Amazon.com can't be beat. I saw this same collection last weekend on sale at a department store for $150! All I can say is thanks Amazon for carrying such a great product at a terrific bargain! |

| Purchased this Oneida flatware and couldn't be more pleased! It has a luxurious, heavy feel and large proportioned pieces. The caddy tray is nicer than I expected and I'm storing the flatware in it. I recommend this to anyone looking for a truly delightful, large scaled, set of stainless! It shines! |
I love this flatware!

| I am not a decisive shopper and feel compelled to do extensive "comparison" shopping. I am always thinking that there might be something better just around the corner (this can drive my family mad!). Therefore, in my quest for new flatware, I purchased three - yes, three! - sets of 18/10 stainless flatware on-line: Oneida Satin Camber from [...] and Wallace Rockport (102-piece set) from [...]. I was immediately disappointed with the Wallace flatware. Though it is 18/10 stainless steel and had matching serving pieces and extra teaspoons, etc., it seemed flimsy - I swear I could have bent the spoons in half myself! I also felt that the design was "blah." The Oneida Satin Camber set had a very pretty design and the pieces felt substantial in my hand. But talk about oversized - the fork and soup spoons were "ginormous!" And I was disappointed that I could not find any matching serving pieces for the Oneida Satin Camber. But then...the Oneida Satin Garnet flatware arrived - at lightning speed, I might add! - from Amazon.com. I love this set! The pieces are indeed substantial as other reviewers have pointed out, but our family is used to heavy flatware so they felt "just right" to us. The design is beautiful and the size of the pieces is perfect - not too big, not too small! I washed them in the dishwasher before putting them away in the accompanying wooden caddy - and they came out of the dishwasher looking shiny and spotless. This is a service for 12 with five matching pieces. Additional pieces are available at various places on-line, including [...]. All in all, I am very pleased with the beauty and durability of this flatware. And Amazon got them to me practially overnight! I am glad that I did some comparison shopping (even though it was a hassle returning the other two flatware sets, it was still worth the satisfaction of getting the set I really like!). |

It's always nice to store your flatware, especially valuable sets in sterling silver or gold, in a nice chest rather than haphazardly in a chest of drawers. One of the renowned makers of flatware, and accessories is Wallace Sliversmiths, and none better represents the quality and attention to detail than the wooden Wallace Royal Mannor Silverware/Flatware Chest. As you can see from the customer reviews below, there's a great deal of satisfaction with this handsome piece. Read on for the details.

| The item is perfect for storing a 12 setting silverware set. The bottom drawer is a nice size for storing miscellaneous pieces like serving spoons. The item arrived promptly, and it was very well packed. It is built well and is a good value for fifty dollars. If you have a nice set of silverware, then you would be proud to store it in this case. Most people will probably store this under a bed or in the closet, but it has a nice look to it so you might want to keep it out. |

Beautiful chest, but doesn't hold as much as I hoped

I bought this chest mainly because it is described as holding a service for 12, up to 100 pieces. Maybe fine silver is more delicately built than my Lenox stainless flatware (Landmark Platinum Frosted, for size reference), because although I managed to get 12 place-settings (plus 12 more small forks for dessert) into the chest -- 72 pieces total -- it just couldn't hold more if I wanted to be able to close the lid and drawer. No more room, so my 16 accessory pieces need another home. It may hold 100 pieces of a different flatware or silverware pattern, though I'm thinking a service for 8 with a few accessory pieces (no gravy ladle or pie server) would be more realistic for modern "bulky" flatware.
Even so, it's a beautiful chest, nicely lined. The lid has 12 slots for knives, and the top compartment has a 10-slot holder for the other utensils. The bottom drawer has an 8-slot holder. It would be nicer if the holders had the slots cut a little lower to allow the flatware to rest lower -- this would allow for more storage space. |
Love it!

| I got this in the mail yesterday and am VERY pleased with it. The box is a lot lighter in color than it looks on the box. It is more of a cherry wood, or maybe an amber. All twelve of my five piece flatware fit nicely into the top section and there are two rows left for other pieces on the top as well as the whole bottom drawer for more. Especially for the price, I don't think you can find a better box! |
